‘The Dark Dam’ is a memory of an amazing, (slightly alarming) place on our first farm, where an old, long forgotten dam had become covered with fallen leaves, sticks and reeds- and formed a floating mat; across which a layer of thick grass had grown and knit together so that one could walk across the entirety of the dam on a wobbly, rolling, grassy blanket (think giant waterbed!). Apart from being hugely dangerous - #theamazingfloatinggrass was a good time.
